“This is the most beautiful Garden Party yet!,” was a comment heard many times over at the 18th Garden Party at The Greenery on September 18th. The threat of showers at the beginning of the week dissolved into a perfect moonlit evening for the 400 guests who were greeted at the gate by a talented young violinist, Molly Nelson. Once inside, music by Andrew Navala and students of his CSU Stanislaus jazz program provided a cheerful background for the lush gardens that housed three galleries containing works by local artists.

Pub tables loaded with luscious snacks provided by nine local restaurants intrigued party goers who also enjoyed refreshing drinks provided by The Greenery owners as they strolled through the gardens and viewed the art work. Tables holding silent auction items kept everyone busy shopping.

With revenues exceeding $50,000, it will have a significant impact on the September 2011 opening of the new Carnegie Arts Center. Thanks to the generous sponsors, silent auction donors, in-kind contributors, participating artists, tireless volunteers and wonderful guests, this was the most successful Garden Party at the Greenery yet, according to Patricia O’Donnell, President of the Carnegie Arts Center Foundation.
