    Adria – Marketing, Event Manager, Certified Preserver

    Adria has been gardening since age 12. Since joining The Greenery in winter of 2001, she married Chris, who is now in law enforcement. They have 3 children: Joseph born 2006, and identical twin girls born January 2010, Isabel and Grace. She earned her A.A in Landscape Architecture and her A.S. in Environmental Horticulture Science from MJC. Adria has a passion for marketing the nursery as well as sharing her passion for gardening, cooking and preserving. She spends as much time that a busy mom of 3 would have, in the garden and enjoys growing edibles, perennials and annuals for birds and butterflies and other wildlife-friendly plants. She has also been very active at her son’s school where is helping with their social media, website and is currently is serving her second term as President of the Parent-Teacher Club. Most recently she completed training for Food Preservation and is now sharing her knowledge in many preserving seminars throughout the year.


    Teresa – Gift Shop Manager, Bookkeeper

    Teresa has been at The Greenery since 2000. She has a degree in Ornamental Horticulture and a wonderful eye for color and design, both in the garden and in the home. She utilizes her talents as the Gift Shop Manager and Bookkeeper for The Greenery. Her home sits on an acre and is full of perennial color for every season. Her favorites are Oakleaf Hydrangea and Catmint, which borders many of her beds. She shares her home with her husband, Mike, her two children who are now both in college, a dog, a cat and two goats. The Elstads are big game and card players and also enjoy hiking and camping at the ocean or in the Sierras.



    Melinda – Gift Shop Designer and Sales

    Melinda has a natural talent for painting and a great eye for color and design. With over 15 years of floral design experience, we are excited to add her to our Garden Shop Staff. Melinda can help you design a tabletop centerpiece, a custom wreath or help you find the perfect gift. She also has over 10 years experience in Southern California nurseries, so she can help you with your gardening questions, too! She enjoys any time spent outdoors, especially when near water! She spends her free time with her beloved daughter and grandkids.




    Cam – Hardgoods and Customer Service Manager

    Cam brings two decades of experience teaching math and science to his position at The Greenery. He is very good at answering questions about plants and explaining products to the customer. Cam’s particular interest in plants is centered on trees, implementing his degree in Forest Management and experience with the USDA Forest Service. When Cam is not working in his garden, he enjoys making carvings out of stone, wood or bone.





    Carol – Nursery Sales, Bedding Assistant

    Carol came to work at the Greenery in October of 2013. She had been a native of the greater Chicago area for most of her life. In 2010 her and her husband traded city life in for the country life on a Walnut orchard in Gustine. She have an extensive retail background from True Value Hardware to Neiman Marcus. Carol has taught cooking classes nationally to painting at a pottery studio. Her interest in gardening began to grow as her children grew up. Moving to California has expanded her interest in gardening like a kid in a candy store. She attended Drake University for Business and the International Academy of Merchandising and Design.



    Trevor – Sales, Marketing, Technical Support

    Trevor enjoys cloudy mornings, warm cups of coffee, Blake Mills, sharp table saw blades, houses with character, Elon Musk, wireless audio, hills, pencils, coast live oaks and a particular short girl named Allana who likes beaches. He also likes spending time with his niece, Zoey, who likes videos about horses, and his nephew, Jackson, who likes videos about bulldozers. Trevor also likes asking Cam questions about science.





    Jessica – Bedding & Color Buyer

    Jessica joined The Greenery in early spring of 2014. She was an active floral student during high school and was a member of the FFA flora competition team. With a great love for the outdoors, she enjoys camping, hiking, and other high adventure activities with family and friends. Jessica has had a passion for dance since age 2 and was a part of a travel competition team for 7 years. She also taught dance classes for ages 3-13 as well. Her main passion is photography- she practices on family and friends and nature as well. She hopes to have her own photography business someday. She has even put in to practice here at the nursery for the website. Jessica, known to some as Jess, can be found singing and dancing around the Greenery!


    Carlos – Sales, Nursery Maintenance

    Carlos joined the team in fall of 2012 and has since taken on the responsibility of watering the whole nursery! He has enjoyed gardening sine he was a young boy, and loved helping his grandpa grow veggies. Carlos really enjoys landscape design, and growing tropical plants from Mexico. He is fluent in Spanish.






    Allana – Social Media and Succulent Expert

    Allana is currently a full time student at MJC studying Environmental Horticulture Cal Poly and will receive her BS in Botany if she tries really hard and changes her major. She loves the “hands-on” aspect of horticulture i.e. getting her hands dirty (but not laying pavers)! She started at the Greenery as an intern and is now working part-time in marketing. Allana enjoys trying recipes from scratch, traveling, writing about plants, propagating succulents and tending to her butterfly/bee garden small collection of plants at her home, dorm room, apartment garden!
